Yes Jesus Loves Me Tshirt

Does this tshirt make you hum a little song you learned as as kiddo? I actually hope so. My boys are getting older but once in a while I still sing it over my boys when I tuck them in. In this world we ALL need to be reminded of His love. The kind of love that is supernatural and "other"--the kind of love that sent the God of the Universe to step down out of Heaven, arriving in humble means as a baby into this broken and upside down world to show us how to live life. And then... that would have been loving enough, but He lived to die--as He became the payment for all of our short comings that meant death for us. This is true love that we can't fully wrap our minds around but should live the rest of our lives striving to. It's a love that the Bible calls "beyond measure" and "kind" (Romans 8:38-39, 1 Corinthians 13). It is a love that you can "live in" (1 John 4:16). It is a love that you can receive but you can also give away (John 15:12).

Sometimes I have to remind myself that Jesus doesn't just tolerate me, but He loves me. Anyone else? I can find myself assuming His love hinges on the list I have in my head that makes me a "good" Christ follower. But His love doesn't and will never hinge on us. It begins and ends with Him. I know for me personally reminding myself and others of His great love is my top priority.
