I love merging words! (Obviously, you love it too, our FRISTERS shirts and mugs keep having to be reordered and reordered.) This word came to me as I was thinking about being hopeful. There are things in my life that I've talked to the Lord about and I'm hopeful as I wait on Him. Things I pray over my children that I'm hopeful for. There are things I want for my friends that when I am on my knees for them, hope rises. Not just for all our "dreams" to come true... not just happiness... but something deeper. And only God knows what that should and does look like for each person. So when I thought about others waiting for happiness I was thinking about how powerful it is to HOPE. The Bible says we should be hopeful. That we should and can trust God with all things in our lives. It made me reflect on the waiting... the trusting of a sovereign God to write our story. It may not always play out the way we would like it to, or believe it should, BUT He is a good God and is always working. So maybe we trade our desire for happiness and let our hearts be full of hopiness as we trust our God, come what may. And it says hope will not disappoint. That makes me smile, because hoping in the One who loves us the way He does will not disappoint--it leads to fulfillment-- a joy that is way better than happiness.

So here's to

HOPINESS:

the state of being hopeful, expectant, and certain. Reading verses like Romans 5:5. Isaiah 40:31, or Jeremiah 29:11 can cause hopiness.
