For Such A Time

BUT GOD.

But God wasn't silent. He seemed to be speaking six words over her life everywhere she turned. Don't you love when He does that? You see the same Scripture over and over—you can't get away from it, you hear it in a song or see it as you're scrolling, the pastor reads it from the pulpit, a friend says it in passing, or you see it on a billboard. “Okay, Lord, I hear you!” Well, that's where she was... and is.

Sometimes when life happens and we wonder "Lord, how in the world did I end up HERE?!?!" We can grieve and scream and cry... but then He does this thing where He reminds us we're not alone. He's got us. And we feel ourselves breathe again. We remember He's kind. We remember He does love us. We recall the times He's been faithful and we choose, in that moment, to take heart and courage as we put one foot in front of the other holding His hand ever so tightly.

Friends, can I remind us tonight, we do have an enemy that is out to steal, kill, and destroy His kids. Don't forget that. BUT our God is greater still! We can say with confidence, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done..." (Genesis 50:20). Sometimes the ashes of our lives become the soil for greater things. God works all things together for GOOD! So we stand up in His strength and we remind ourselves of these six words: "For such a time as this..." (Esther 4:14). Speak it out loud if you need to. If you don't have the strength, a whisper will do. You don't have to do this thing alone. Invite Him in—He can handle the mess.

We can't see around the corner, or what is ahead of us, but we can trust the One Who sees all and is IN all and promises beauty from our ashes.
