This verse has always held a special place in my heart. Sometimes we find ourselves in the deep-- water over our head, struggling to keep our heads above the waves, feeling like at any moment we're going under... for good. But in the storm... He speaks. In our trouble-- He stretches out His arm that is mighty to save. Even though we "feel" alone, the reality is: we are not alone. We may feel like we’re going under... that we can’t catch our breath... or the stillness of night is taking us under. But His words are clear: HE is with us. Without the deep waters we may never recognize our need for our Rescuer.
When I started painting this verse I kept going back to the word “when“. “WHEN you go through deep waters”... friends, it's not if but when. So when you go through deep waters, don't be afraid, your God is WITH you.
