As the world continues to change and shift, I can either change and shift with it... OR, as I Christ follower, I can remind myself that I don't have to fear, I don't have to tremble, I don't have to do anything but STAND FIRM.
I don't know how many times I've turned to these words of instruction for strength and peace in the midst of the age we are living in.
1 Peter 5 verse 6 begins this way:
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, STANDING FIRM IN THE FAITH, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
Let's STAND FIRM in our faith and cling to the hope we have because of the cross. Yes, we have an enemy that prowls around like a roaring lion looking to take us out. But Christian, resist him and STAND FIRM... for what or who do we have to fear if we have our King promising to restore and strengthen us as we stand secure in Him! You know the answer don't you.... NO ONE.
