Purple, "Hope Fully" Tee - Next Level

I’ve said this a lot over the last few years. But I’ve said it as one word: hopefully. Hopefully things will return to “normal.” Hopefully this hard season will pass quickly. Hopefully people will stop being so mean to one another. Hopefully we can all learn a little grace. But then one day I heard all my hopefully's and recognized how weak it was as one word, but how powerful it was as two words: Hope fully.

It changed everything.

Because we don’t serve a God that leaves us to fend for ourselves, to cross our fingers and "hope for the best." Nope. He asks us to set our HOPE FULLY on Him. He reminds us in His Word that He’s got us. He reminds us that even in our darkest hours He’s aware and we can STILL… even with tears rolling down our cheeks… fully set our hope and trust in Him. Hope can be a tricky thing for me personally. Hope in Him can easily turn into “hope in my expectations of what God should do” or hope that a life of ease will be my story. And when my hopes are nothing more than a striving for control I end up empty… disappointed… and frustrated. At times leading me into a tailspin with God, wrestling with questions, doubt, hopelessness. Which is the opposite of hope. Right?!

But He invites us even then to draw near. To remember and anchor our hearts to His character so we can align our hope once again. Not to wishfully hope He does things our way, but to HOPE FULLY… COMPLETELY… UNWAVERING… CONFIDENTLY on the One that holds all things in His hands. To Hope Fully in the good, sovereign King that alone sits on His rightful throne.

I thought maybe others would enjoy this reminder as well. We can Hope Fully that He's got us in the here and now but we can also hold fast to the promise that He will come again! And that, my friends, is my ultimate HOPE! The crazier this world becomes and the more unstable I feel wading through the muck and mire, I remember this is not my forever home. I smile when I think we are one day closer than we were yesterday. He promises He will come for His bride. He will part the sky and we won’t have to hope anymore… our hope will be made complete. It will be a HOPE FULFILLED. Maybe we'll get new tshirts in heaven ;) So why not remind ourselves that we can exchange our “hopefully” with a HOPE FULLY. And why did I just have to have a purple shirt with gold lettering?? Well, they were the most “righteous” colors I could think of to point to my coming King. I don’t wear purple much, but I can make an exception for a worthwhile statement. Fellas, are you confident enough to sport a purple shirt?!?! I believe in you! My son is all about it.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
