Story behind painting:

There's been a song that I've had on repeat over the last couple weeks. It's the song "The Blessing." The verse is from Numbers 6. The bridge is also FULL of Scripture, highlighting the promises/blessings He's made to us (Deut. 7:9, Exo. 20:6, Psalm 139, and others).

This song is new... and the timing of it's release has me even more in awe of His great love for us. The Lord knew what we'd be enduring and the fears we'd be confronted with, and so hear He is reminding us of the promises in His word, as they speak hope to His people. There's nothing like a song that puts truth on our lips!

We are nothing without Him. But WITH HIM... now that's another story! It can change not only your life but your household and your children's children... and their children. He goes before you and behind you and beside you, He's within you! In the morning or the evening, in your coming or your going, whether you are experiencing sorrow or joy, He is for you!

As I let these words spur me on during this unknown season, I felt such a peace knowing that He's got me. He's got us. In Him there is peace. And right now, I think we're all very much aware that "In Him" doesn't mean smooth sailing, but it does mean that He is the wind in our sails. The wind, although we can't see it, we can feel it. I've always heard it said that we can't see the wind but we can feel the effects of the wind. So it is with our God. We may not be able to see Him, but we can feel Him and we can see the evidence of God moving. So set sail and let Him guide your life. You don't have to fear today or tomorrow, because He is with you and He is for you. And watch how God can move your household and a thousand generations to follow.
